Chinese Community Resource Day this Saturday

This Saturday from 10am to 3pm there will be a special Resource Day for Chinese speaking residents at the Full Life Christian Center at 3535 Balboa Street (at 37th Avenue).

This free event will focus on resources available to serve the Chinese-speaking community especially the immigrant community. There will be workshops, free lunch, free raffle drawings, resource tables, entertainment and kids activities.

The entire event will be presented in Chinese (see event flyer in Chinese). Featured workshops include:

11:30am: How to access employment services. Job opportunities offered by Chinatown Neighborhood Workforce Center. RSVP with Zoe Zhu at (415) 221-5783.
1:00pm: How to get food stamps if you’re an immigrant.
2:00pm: How to apply for health insurance & access medical services if you are an immigrant without health insurance

The event is being put on by RAMS, Inc., a private, non-profit mental health agency that is committed to advocating for and providing community based, culturally-competent, and consumer-guided comprehensive services, with an emphasis on serving Asian & Pacific Islander Americans.

Founded in the Richmond District in 1974, RAMS offers comprehensive services that aim to meet the behavioral health, social, vocational, and educational needs of the diverse community of the San Francisco Area with special focus on the Asian & Pacific Islander American and Russian-speaking populations.
