The best way to make more parking available is to make MUNI run reliably. My most recent attempt to ride the 5 Fulton from 43rd Ave to City Hall ended at Divisadero when the driver announced that his relief driver had not shown up, and that we should all get off an wait for another bus. This bus was bout 3/4-full! I said to my wife, "Next time, we'll drive and pay to park." I would gladly use the bus to run errands from my home on 43rd to Geary Blvd and the Inner Richmond, but there is now less service and when a bus does show up at the scheduled time, I feel like I have won the lottery.

So, I think attempts to manage parking are futile. Provide an alternative ad parking problems will go away!

Maybe the city will now discover that there ARE empty spots available all the time - the yellow meter commercial spots! Drive down Clement, or Chestnut... ooo - empty spot, ooooo- yellow meter...
While the commercial vehicles are all double parked. I'm just very unclear as to why all those spots exist - except to generate ticket revenue from the people who park there & don't read the signs.
