Fawn Fitter’s pics are really catching my eye this week… She photographed a rickshaw along Clement Street recently.
Digging into the photo’s caption I discovered it’s the latest creation from the man I had seen chugging around Sunday Streets and Golden Gate Park last year. He’s known as Deep Jawa. You probably remember him – he had two booming speakers strapped to the back of his three wheeled cycle, blasting funky hits for people to enjoy (photo at right is from Mission Sunday Streets in 2009).
Apparently that sonic bicycle, a.k.a Trikeasaurus 1.0, met its demise with a broken axel, so Deep Jawa upped the ante with this latest rickshaw model. He found it was the perfect accompaniment to his love for bicycles, cute girls, mini-skirts and high heels.
Deep Jawa found an Indian rickshaw for sale online and the DIY story continues from there. Let’s hope he brings his latest ride out for Sunday Streets on the Great Highway on April 11.
