CAPTAIN RICHARD CORREIA’S MESSAGE
On October 7, 2010 in the early evening a twenty-two year old cyclist was traveling north bound on 6th Avenue between Geary Boulevard and Clement Street. The young cyclist and a MUNI bus, also traveling north bound on 6th Avenue , collided and the cyclist was killed. The cause of collision is still under investigation. Please drive safely and defensively. Also remember that at this time of the year our streets are more dangerous due to intensity of both the early morning and late afternoon sun. Motorists, pedestrians and bicyclist should all be careful. It is also important to not to assume that a driver, pedestrian or bicyclist will act in any particular way. You should remain vigilant and ready for all possibilities.
