Shop Borders this weekend and support our neighborhood schools

This Saturday and Sunday is Borders’ Super Classroom Days. Make any purchase (even a latte!) at a Borders location and you’ll earn a $15 gift card which can be used on donorschoose.org, a website that lists classroom projects that need funding.

There are thousands of projects looking for support on donorschoose.org, including schools right here in our own neighborhood.

Argonne Elementary School needs a new computer and printer for their school library (project page), while George Washington High School has four projects listed ranging from multimedia needs to textbooks for a US History AP course.

Borders is also giving away an additional $15 gift card when you purchase a DVD of “Waiting for Superman”, a documentary about the current state of public education in the U.S.

There’s a Borders in Stonestown, as well as downtown on Union Square or in San Francisco Centre. After you receive the gift card(s) from your purchase, go to the donorschoose.org website to help fund some classroom projects right here in our own neighborhood.
