CAPTAIN RICHARD CORREIA’S MESSAGE
We have seen an increase in pick pocketing on the 38 Geary MUNI line in the last month. Pick pocketing occurs in crowded areas where distances between people are small. Thieves like busses, escalators and crowded stores. If you keep your handbag or backpack in front you will make a more risky target to a pick pocket. If you feel that someone is standing too close to you —they are. Protect you belongs and open the distance between you and the person. In the pick-pocket world the inside pocket of a sports coat is call the “safe”. That’s where you should keep your wallet and other valuables.

During the past week in the District there were 17 traffic accidents 7 involving injuries. There were 5 citations issued for driving without a license or driving on a suspended license. There were 2 arrests for driving under the influence.

Due to the Christmas holiday we will not be having a community meeting this month. The next meeting is scheduled for January 18, 2011.
