19th Ave. <-> GG Bridge closures January 7 & 8

This Friday and Saturday, both the northbound and southbound lanes to and from the Golden Gate Bridge will be closed for Presidio Parkway construction.

Beginning Friday, January 7 from 10pm until 10am on Saturday morning, the ramp from northbound Hwy 1 to northbound Hwy 101 will be closed. This closure will begin at Lake Street. To get to the bridge during the closure, you’ll need to approach through the Presidio by entering in the gates at Arguello, 15th Avenue or 25th Avenue.

Then beginning Saturday, January 8 from 10pm until 10am on Sunday morning, the ramp from southbound Hwy 101 to southbound Hwy 1 will be closed. This means the 19th Avenue exit from the bridge/Doyle Drive will not be available, so you’ll need to exit at the Golden Gate Bridge toll booth and wind through the Presidio to reach the Richmond District (or continue on to the Marina District).

Some additional info from the advisory:

These two overnight closures are necessary to shift northbound and southbound traffic to the newly completed section of the Ruckman Bridge. This shift allows traffic to continue moving while the rest of the permanent Ruckman Bridge is built. The bridge is expected to be complete by mid-2011.

Please be aware that the first 400 feet of southbound Hwy 1 will be reduced to one lane for approximately 4-6 months during this new traffic alignment. Southbound traffic will return to two lanes before entering the MacArthur Tunnel.
