Provide feedback on neighborhood services at the DCYF Town Hall, January 21

This Friday night, residents of the Richmond District will have a chance to share their feedback and ideas for neighborhood services.

The event is being organized by the Richmond Community Coalition, a group of citizens who work with the Richmond District Community Center. They have been asked by the SF Department of Children, Youth & Their Families to provide a community needs assessment that will be used to determine funding allocations for the next three years.

The San Francisco Department of Children, Youth & Their Families creates and facilitates citywide policies and projects in support of children, youth, and families. The DCYF supports a broad range of programs in the areas of early child care, academic support, health and wellness, youth workforce development, and cultural enrichment.

The meeting will be held this Friday, January 21st at Roosevelt Middle School, located at 460 Arguello Street from 6:00-8:00pm.

Come to the meeting to let the DCYF know what you think about services that are currently being offered, and hear what their plans are for the next funding cycle. You’ll also hear from providers about their services and needs. Supervisor Eric Mar is expected to attend.

The tentative agenda for the meeting is:

6:00-6:15: Welcome and Introductions
6:15-7:45:
1) Supervisor Eric Mar
2) DCYF brainstorm and feedback session facilitated by their consultants
3) Announcements from other Community and Faith Based Organizations to distribute information about their own programs and upcoming events
7:45-8:00: Wrap up and closing

The meeting is being organized by the Richmond Village Beacon, a part of the Richmond District Community Center. For more information, contact Michelle Cusano at 750-8554 or mcusano@rvbeacon.org.

  1. recently i watched the park and rec. commission meeting on s,f, gov. there were folks from the richmond and sunset districts complaing about the outside lands concerts and similar events.
i would suggest to these groups that they try another tangent- the entertainment commission which has purveyence over music venues . they can make a ruling on a “bad neighbor”.
unfortunately the p&r commission is deaf ears on the subject due to the money waved in their faces by the concert and event groups.
if i were still a resident of the richmond i’d demand a tax refund for all the impingements on traffic etc. that these events put on the folks there. goo luck
