Richmond District family featured in new urban biking advocacy video

Meet Stephanie and Joe, parents of two small children that live here in the Richmond District. Their story is featured in a new video from Connecting the City, whose vision is to build a continuous, crosstown bikeway in San Francisco.

  1. I agree with Stephanie’s video that the green divisions with dividers for bike lanes are awesome. For me the #1 reason I like them is because it keeps disrespectful bike riders out of the lanes meant for cars. As a Lake Street resident I have almost gotten in numerous car accidents with bikers because the riders refuse to follow the rules of the road. Bikers need to realize that the streets are for cars first and bikes second. They need to stay in their bike lanes, use proper turning etiquette, avoid dangerous weaving, and respect stop signs and lights. It’s for their own safety.
