A gang of SFPD bike cops grab lunch in the neighborhood

Flickr user Gino Zahnd snapped this pic of a big group of SFPD officers that were taking a break from a training ride.

One of the officers told him they’d done a 25 mile ride before pulling up to the curb on Clement between 24th and 25th Avenue for some lunch (Bill’s Place for burgers and fries perhaps?).

One commenter said he saw the group heading up 25th Avenue towards the bridge earlier in the day (“Many did not seem to be enjoying that hill.”)

“They weren’t the fittest bunch I’ve ever seen,” Gino commented back.

I just want to know how they found so much open parking on Clement Street?!?!?

  1. Sarah,
They were expected. That’s why there was parking.

  2. Bill’s is a great place to refuel & hydrate after a hard ride or run! Go team!

  3. How about buying bicycles MADE in the USA? Should be a City requirement, esp. for the police.

  4. What no SFPD fixies? lol!! I’d love to see SFPD ride a fixie through the city. I can see them now. Cops doing track stands and skids throughout the city. Watch them bomb Fell. That would be hilarious. It’s good to see them riding bikes through the city. I hope it give them a little more cyclist perspective and understanding. I look forward to seeing more of them on the street.
