Double stabbing at Clement Street bar last night; suspect tackled and arrested

Police on the scene last night on the 400 block of Clement Street

KTVU reports that a double stabbing took place on Clement Street between 5th and 6th Avenues last night.

Both victims were taken to San Francisco General hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The Examiner reports that “One of the victims was stabbed in the arm, and the other suffered wounds to the rear flank.”

A RichmondSFBlog reader who is friends with the victims says the wounds were minor, and one of the victims is back behind the bar today.

Another RichmondSFBlog reader, Michelle, was just down the street having dessert at Toy Boat Cafe when the incident occurred.

She said the suspect was chased across the street to the Bitter End bar, where he was tackled and lay unconscious. The weapon was recovered. Medics were on the scene, and the suspect was later taken to San Francisco General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

KTVU reports that the suspect was tackled by good samaritans but we heard from two sources that he was chased and beaten unconscious by friends of the victims.

RichmondSFBlog reader Sara was also on the scene last night. “I was at Bitter End last night when it happened. Looked scary but nothing life threatening,” she tweeted.

  1. I walked past there around 12:30 and it was a complete sh!t show. cars doing burn outs in front, bumping their stereos, and the crowd was all over the sidewalk and street in front, yelling and screaming. Plus, the Rockit Room has had a history of problematic events. I wonder how the Entertainment Commission is gonna handle this?

  2. I am a friend of one of the victims. I am glad to report that his rear flank is ok.

  3. I am a friend of one of the victims. I am happy to report that his rear flank is ok.

  4. this did not happen at rockit room,it happened at dirty trix…an @ Ian he’s full of b.s. with the stereos an burnouts…don’t tell lies ian……….

  5. You’re correct, Deymon. This did not happen at Rockit Room. What terrible and reckless reporting.

  6. Come to think of it, it wasn’t even a double stabbing. Only one person actually got stabbed. Was Sarah B. actually even there, or did she read this in News of the World and re-report it?

  7. i’ve noticed from years of living here, all the bs on the weekends comes from people coming in from elsewhere, taking a crap on our decent neighborhood.

  8. does anyone know WHY this happened? was there a confrontation? did the victims know this guy? was it random?

  9. That bar is such a mess, I pass it on the way home late at night. I wish it would close and leave for good.

  10. @ Ben: Pretty sure she got that information from KTVU and the Examiner, both of which said two people got stabbed. If you’ve got a problem with the info, take it up with them.

  11. I frequent both of these bars; it’s very rare for anything to actually occur at either Dirty Trix or the Rockit Room. I know the bouncers at the Rockit Room, and even though they have Reggae all the time on weekends, they very rarely have problems. It’s a great neighborhood and always very happening; we shouldn’t let one idiot ruin it for the rest of us who love the nightlife there.

  12. Spoke with bouncers at both these places yesterday. Nothing happened at the Rockit Room. Three drunks at Dirty Trix, next door, were out of control. Dirty Tricks never has any problems; this truly was a unusual event. They got mad because the bartender cut them off from drinking; they started throwing bottles at the bartender and were escorted out, at which point one pulled a knife and started stabbing people. This had nothing to do with the normal clientele of either of these places; it was just three jerks who were looking for trouble.

  13. The other thing is that the three dudes were locals…not out of towners. or bridge and tunnel folks. Needless to say they won’t be welcome at any place around here for a while.
