If President Obama sports a new black fedora, it’s from Paul’s Hat Works

President Barack Obama came through town last week on a whirlwind fundraising visit. Last Thursday, he attended a fundraising dinner at the home of Robert Mailer Anderson, who is also a Paul’s Hat Works client.

Anderson, who himself owns about fifteen hats from the shop, told the ladies at Paul’s Hat Works, “We gotta help get the man some style!”

So Paul’s Hat Works sent over a “beautiful black North Beach with a grey ribbon, the bow had a twisted center” to Anderson’s mansion where the dinner was held. The next morning, they got the good news.

“Obama thought he looked good in the hat and ‘would wear it during the second term’!” Anderson told them. Photos were also taken of Anderson and Obama wearing their Paul’s hats, but it may be awhile before those are released. The gifting also got a mention in last Sunday’s Datebook in the Chronicle.

Needless to say the ladies that run Paul’s Hat Works were very excited, writing on their blog about the Presidential adventure:

“So there you go folks, we have put a hat on the President, the number one person who every hat shop in the history of the United States tries to get a hat on! We hope that he wears it before his second term… If you see him out and about with a black hat on, it’s most likely our handmade, beaver felt fedora.”

Way to go Paul’s! We’ll keep an eye on the President’s noggin. 😉
