Last night, the Bazaar Cafe (5927 California at 22nd Avenue) kicked off a month long silent auction to benefit their new Bazaar Foundation for the Arts.

Owners of the cafe formed the foundation after receiving generous donations to help keep their cafe open in January of this year.

The silent auction features works from over two dozen local artists, including photography, paintings, prints, multimedia, stitchery and sculpture.

Artists who have donated works include Julie Scribner, Michael Azgour, Rachel Meyer, Roberto Soncin Gerometta, Shane York, Chris Babcock, John Perry, Michael Capozolla, Julie Berlin, Jonathon Green, Olivia Ward, Susanna Kwan, Maragret Barrett, Vivien MacDonald, Roslyn Banish, Les Wisner, Angela Cross, Julie Berlin, Mike Brown, Raychel Hessler, Sarah Abbott, Julienne Fusella, Escama Studio, Anthony Kwan and Will Edeen.

Stop in to the cafe anytime during regular hours to view the items and place bids. Bidding will close on Saturday, July 28th at the closing party, which begins at 6pm at the Cafe.

All proceeds from the auction benefit the Bazaar Foundation for the Arts, which is “dedicated to supporting local Bay Area artists in the creation, exhibition, and performance of original works of music, as well as visual and spoken word arts.”

Thanks to David H. for the tip.
