Argonne Elementary celebrates its new play structure

On Monday, students, teachers, parents and members of the community gathered to celebrate the opening of the new play structure at Argonne Elementary School.

Parents and school staff have been hard at work for over a year to raise funds and procure the new structure; they went the 2011-2012 school year without one.

Supervisor Eric Mar was also at the event and said, “This is a great day for Argonne, its parents, and, of course, all of the students. What a fantastic way to start the school year for one of the great educational institutions of District 1!”

Argonne is on a roll – their Parent Teacher Organization recently received a $20,000 grant for a new schoolyard mural, which will be completed in Spring 2013.

  1. Yay Argonne, and yay Nora and the rest of the community there! Enjoy and play hard!

  2. Not quite several years w/o a play structure more like 42 weeks since the old one was removed last Fall.

  3. @Samcat – thanks for clarifying, we updated the post.
