The holiday events are already rolling in, so here are a few you might consider adding to your calendar. Have a great week! – Sarah B.

  • Purusha Yoga (3729 Balboa) is opening a new community patio space out behind their studio. This Saturday, December 1st, they’re hosting a Art Open and Community Benefit Bash to celebrate from 4pm until 8pm. Stop by to view some art, listen to music, enjoy food and wine and more. After 8pm, they’ll light up a fire and celebrate a new community mural that was installed by Carla Elise. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased online or at the event. Proceeds benefit their sister non-profit, the Purusha Seva Project.
  • Lots of holiday events going on at The Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park… First up is the 2 for 1 Plant Sale this Saturday from 10am until 1pm in the nursery. Buy one plant at full price and get another of equal or lesser value free. Next up is the Annual Holiday Bazaar on Wednesday night, Dec. 5, from 6pm until 9pm. Volunteers and staff will be selling handcrafted items and foods. And finally on December 8, they are offering their Wreath Making Workshop for both adults and families ($35 for members, $40 for non-members).
  • In more garden news, the Conservatory of Flowers has a special 21+ event on December 5 called “Fragrance: The Allure and Magical History of Perfumes”, featuring chanteuse and storyteller Jill Tracy, hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “a femme fatale for the thinking man.” Tracy will unveil her new fragrance line and celebrate the release of her new, haunting holiday CD “Silver Smoke, Star of Night”. The event runs from 6pm until 10pm, tickets are $13 ($7 for members) and can be purchased online or at the door.
  • The Tal-y-Tara Tea and Polo Shoppe on California (the one with the big brown horse out front) is hosting their annual Holiday Tea on Sunday, December 23rd. Enjoy a full tea service, Motorloaf tea sandwiches, scones and sweet treats, plus a visit from Santa and Christmas caroling. Cost is $25 per person, reservations are required – call 751-9275.

  1. Also fun – have breakfast at Louis’ and watch the river otter swim around in sync with the Bing Crosby Christmas tunes.
