Shop local this holiday: Clementime is back, craft fair, Santa’s Village & more

The holidays are in full swing in the Richmond District and there are a few events coming up this week that can help you get a jump on your holiday shopping:

CLEMENTIME MICROHOOD SHOPPING EVENT
First up is Clementime this Thursday night, December 6 from 5pm until 9pm. This “microhood” shopping event is back for a second year and features merchants among the early blocks of Clement Street like Park Life, Seedstore, Green Apple Books, Foogy Notion Boutique, ToyBoat Dessert Cafe, Sparky’s Toys, Kisha Studio, Covet Boutique, the Richmond District YMCA and more.

Participating merchants will be offering special deals or celebratory items to get you in the holiday shopping mood like live music, giveaways, food and drink, free ice cream, special discounts and more. Get all the details over at The Bold Italic, and then be sure to drop by Clement Street on Thursday night to support your neighborhood stores.

HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR
The Richmond Senior Center is hosting a holiday craft fair this Friday, December 7 from 10am until 4pm. Come shop for homemade gifts like paintings, ceramics, jewelry, knitting and baked goods, with all proceeds benefiting the Center. The Richmond Senior Center is located at 6221 Geary Blvd on the 3rd Floor (between 26th & 27th Avenues).

SANTA’S VILLAGE AT ST. MONICA’S SCHOOL
This Sunday, December 9 from 11:30am until 3:30pm, St. Monica’s School (5950 Geary) will host their annual Santa’s Village holiday fundraiser. Stop by to have brunch with Santa, get your photo taken with him, shop their Christmas boutique for gifts, or turn the kids into elves in Santa’s Worksop where they can try their hand at arts & crafts and games. Tickets are $13 per person at the door and includes brunch and entry to Santa’s Workshop for kids.

YMCA HOLIDAY BAZAAR
Also on Sunday from 9am until 3pm, the Richmond District YMCA (360 18th Avenue) is holding a Holiday Bazaar, where you can shop for gifts from vendors selling specialty items, or create your own handmade gift at their DIY crafting corner. They’ll provide supplies for you to make a special one-of-a-kind holiday gift for $5 or less. Vendors will be selling handmade jewelry, women’s accessories, handmade crafts for children and second hand goods. DIY crafts include: snow globes, glass ornament decorating, terrariums and bulb planting. The event is free to attend, with the exception of the DIY area where you can participate for $5 or less.
