Free all-ages jazz show at the Westside Art House on Balboa, August 17

This Saturday from 8pm until 10pm, the Westside Art House (540 Balboa) will host a free jazz concert from the West Side Jazz Club.

In case you haven’t heard of it, the Westside Art House opened its doors in 2011 as a venue for community, donation-based classes and events. Part dance studio, part art gallery and part community center, it was started by Marisa Gregory, a trained yoga instructor.

Saturday’s jazz concert is free and for all ages. The West Side Jazz Club is “a San Francisco-based collective of musicians seeking to balance modern, innovative jazz music with a solid tradition of small-group bebop. As a trio, quartet, quintet or larger group, WSJC is organic and dynamic in both its members and sound.” It was founded by tenor saxaphonist Scott Silverberg in 2006.

Families, kids, and even dogs are welcome at Saturday’s show. The music begins at 8pm.
