Hardly Strictly Bluegrass music festival in Golden Gate Park this weekend

This weekend (Oct. 4-6) is the free Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. As usual, the schedule is bursting with a wide variety of artists and genres across 6 stages including M.C. Hammer for the Friday morning kids’ program, Bonnie Raitt, The Cave Singers, Boz Scaggs, Natalie Maines, Nick Lowe, Elvin Bishop, Emmylou Harris, Steve Martin, Chris Isaak, and Gogol Bordello.

Friday’s schedule runs from 10:30am until 7pm, Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 7pm. View the full performance schedule

This festival is free to all attendees, so don’t expect the usual fencing etc. that accompanies events like Outside Lands. But there will be street closures (to cars) in Golden Gate Park beginning on Tuesday. Read the FAQ page for full details; the map below shows closures that begin Friday at 6am through Sunday at 12midnight:

Streets closed to car traffic for HSB beginning Friday night

There is a Hardly Strictly mobile app for both iPhone and Android – so if you’re headed to the festival, download it to get easy access to the schedule, a map etc.

If you have issues with the festival or attendees during the weekend, there is a Neighborhood Support Line at 415-386-8584.

Rock on and have fun!
