Neighborly salute to the Class of 2014 at 15th & Cabrillo

A house on the corner of 15th & Cabrillo is known for dressing up its stone lions in seasonal attire. We saw it during Easter and now, they’ve dressed the Leos in graduation caps complete with tassels and small diplomas hanging from their paws.

Adorable.

  1. It’s always so impressive when people who have brains do something for the neighborhood. Creating a strong theme with such simple and basic materials. Those folks are thinkers!

  2. It’s amazing how much joy something like this can bring to everyone. I hope the folks who live there read this and if they are – thank you so much! Your decorations have brought me much joy!!!

PS I hope this inspires a trend!

  3. So cute!! Now THAT is a true neighbor. Reminds me of the baseball placed in the Asian goddess statue’s hand on Anza in the 30s (Avenues, not years) during the 2010 postseason.

Also, does not require permits and infringes on no one else’s property rights.

  4. Up in the window above, there’s a UCLA banner…thus the Bruin colors on the lions!
