  1. Looks like they’re offering up Elton John as the background free music peace offering to the older folks in the neighborhood as a little payback for the inconvenience. That’s the only “name” I recognize.

  2. @Richmond Resident – Ha, I hear you. But it’s in keeping with past years with an older performer in the headliner list: Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder etc. Very eclectic lineup!

  3. Hey, I’m an old fart and I recognized a couple of names on that list (please don’t ask to me hum a few bars of any of their tunes though…) !

  4. Uh…Billy Idol, anybody?

Amusingly, there’s some band named the Allah-Las. That is a fantastic name.

  5. The band “Lake Street Dive” is from Boston and has no connection to (the real) Lake Street sorry to say.

I’m well fossilized but I really like St Vincent and Tame Impala and sometimes Wilco and The Black Keys etc. Not that I’m going to go.

  6. The Outside Lands line-up is great, but they are getting too big for the GGP venue. The neighborhood, access to the Park is impacted now for at least three weeks not just the show weekend. The Outside Lands need to find a new venue. Treasure Island is a great open spot. Great views of SF less impact to a already congested neighborhood on weekends. Please consider a new venue for the future.

  7. Woot! Definitely going this year, bought the Eager Beaver tickets a few weeks ago. They sold out of 3-day passes less than an hour after they went on sale! Definitely an eclectic lineup this year…a lot more music genres being offered. [That was a concern a few years back, when many OL fans wanted more than just rock.]

It’s kind of interesting, they’re doing wristbands this year instead of having concertgoers print out the tickets for scanning. If I recall, the bogus ticket issue was minimal last year, but the change to wristbands would make things a bit smoother.
