2015 Halloween events in the Richmond District

It’s that time of year again when the neighborhood lights up for Halloween with special events, trick-or-treating, haunted houses and more. Check out the happenings below and plan your Halloween itinerary!

HALLOWEEN PARADE & PUMPKIN DECORATING ON CLEMENT STREET
Sunday, October 25 at 11am
Come out to the Clement Street Farmer’s Market at 2nd Avenue and parade down Clement in costume. Starting at 11am, decorate pumpkins next to the information booth at the Farmers Market. Then join the costume parade at 12noon, starting at the Music Area at 3rd Avenue and walking through the Farmers Market to Toy Boat at Fifth and Clement. Finish up at Toy Boat where each costumed child will receive a ticket for their choice of a free ice-cream.

CIRCUS HALLOWEEN PARTY AT THE YMCA
Friday, October 30th, 5:30 – 8PM
The Richmond District Y brings the circus to you with three rings of fun and excitement to celebrate Halloween! There will be activities for toddlers through middle school… chaperons will have a scream too! Entrance Fee: $10 per child 2 & over, pumpkin included (Kids under 2 and adults are free). At the Richmond District YMCA, 360 18th Avenue.

FREE HALLOWEEN CARTOONS AT THE BALBOA THEATER
Saturday, October 30th at 10am
Start your Halloween morning off by bringing the kids to Balboa Theatre for free freaky family-friendly cartoons!

HALLOWEEN DAY

HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL AT ARGONNE ELEMENTARY
From 11am to 2pm enjoy a free lunch, climbing wall, bounce house, spooky obstacle course, bicycling, Halloween activities from community partners in the Richmond, and a chance to win tickets to the Academy of Sciences! Costumes are encouraged! More info

CLEMENT STREET TRICK OR TREAT
From 2pm to 6pm, look for the special Halloween stencils outside the stores of participating Clement Street merchants from Arguello to 12th Avenue. Then pop inside if you dare for a trick or a treat! Sponsored by the Clement St. Merchants Association.

BalBOOa FRIGHT FEST 2015
Visit Balboa between 35th and 39th Avenue for Halloween festivities from 12:30pm until 5pm. Children and their families are invited to trick or treat in costume at stores along the route and finish up at St. Thomas the Apostle School where there will be a carnival featuring games and contests, as well as food and treats! Various stores will host activities during the day, including face painting and balloon twisting, and an afternoon costume contests for adults, kids, and pets, as well as a house decorating contest.

PHOTO SPOT AT ANGELINA’S CAFE
We here at the Richmond Blog are starting a new tradition this year – free Halloween photos for everyone! Stop by Angelina’s Cafe at 22nd & California to pose in costume in front of our spooky backdrop. It’s free and we’ll post the photos online the next day for free download. Come by to commemorate Halloween 2015! 5pm-8pm

HAUNTED HOUSE AT APPEL & DIETRICH MARKET
It’s the final year for this always creative, homegrown haunted house that takes place in the basement of the market at 22nd & California Street. Take a slide down the chute and enter into a spooky wonderland you’ll never forget. Free admission, all ages welcome. 6pm-9pm

OUTER RICHMOND HALLOWEEN BLOCK PARTY
43rd Avenue, between Cabrillo and Balboa Streets, 6pm-9pm
Celebrate Halloween with a tradition hosted by the Outer Richmond Witches and Warlocks! The block will be lit up with fun: various games (including a scavenger hunt!), music, karaoke, jokes, story telling, blow up basketball game, pumpkin decorating, and more…
