#GivingTuesday: Support Richmond District charities this holiday season

charity-439469

Today is #GivingTuesday, a 24-hour global event when charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

In honor of #GivingTuesday (which, in case you didn’t pick up on it, is meant to counter Black Friday and Cyber Monday), we’re providing donation links for great charities within the Richmond District that you can support this season.

Support charities right here in the 94118 and 94121 like the Richmond District YMCA and Richmond District Neighborhood Center, which provide programs and services for children, adults and seniors, and organizations like the Western Neighborhoods Project and the Internet Archive whose mission is to preserve our histories.

Or direct your tax deductible donation to places where you can have great experiences in our neighborhood like our parks, the Conservatory of Flowers (via SF Parks Alliance) and museums (Academy of Sciences, de Young and Legion of Honor).

Don’t see your favorite 501c3 neighborhood charity on the list? Leave a comment with the name of your organization and we’ll add it asap.

Thanks for your generosity, Richmond District!
