The victim and his friends were leaving a bar when the suspect struck him on the head with an unknown hard object causing him to fall to the ground.
Suspect: Asian male, 6’0” 140 lbs wearing a black beanie

ARREST: SHOPLIFTING / VIOLATION OF PROBATION
12/19/2015 10:15 AM
Geary & 28th Ave
The store owner recognized the suspect as having stolen from the store and escaped at least twice. On the previous day, he was seen on video stealing a pair of headphones. The owner approached the suspect, detained him, and saw that the suspect had 9 fruit roll ups from the store concealed in his front pockets. The owner called the police, but while the suspect waited for the officers to arrive he ate one of the fruit roll-ups. The officers asked the suspect if he had ever been arrested for theft in the past and he replied, “About forty times.” He’s on probation for burglary.

ARREST: VEHICLE THEFT / VANDALISM
12/19/2015 3:03 PM
Bowling Green & Nancy Pelosi Drive
An officer on patrol saw a person spray painting a car in Golden Gate Park and stopped to investigate. When the painter saw the officer he seemed in a hurry to leave, which was understandable since the car was stolen.

ARREST: BURGLARY / VIOLATION OF PROBATION
12/19/2015 6:05 PM

The resident arrived home to find the suspect walking out of his garage with his bicycle. He called 911 and managed to stall the suspect until officers arrived. The suspect is on probation for possession of stolen property.

SHOOTING
12/20/2015 12:17 AM
Near Fulton & 46th Ave inside Golden Gate Park
The victim (a homeless man who frequents Golden Gate Park) was shot by another homeless man who also frequents the park.
Captain’s Note: Sometimes, the prudent course of action is to release minimal information about a case while the investigation is ongoing. This is one of those times.

STABBING / BATTERY
12/20/2015 12:30 AM
Balboa & La Playa
A trio of homeless acquaintances became involved in a dispute during which the suspect punched one victim and stabbed the other in the face.
Captain’s Note: We do not believe that this case is related to the shooting above.

ARREST: KIDNAPPING
12/20/2015 3:00 AM
Fulton & 21st Ave
The suspect picked the victim up at Sutter & Larkin where they agreed that he would pay for an hour of her companionship. The suspect drove the victim to Marin County where agreed upon sexual acts occurred. Afterward, the suspect drove back to San Francisco but would not let the victim out of the car despite her pleas. He threatened to harm her and she managed to escape from the car long enough to ask a passing woman for help. The suspect forced her back into the car while the passing woman called 911 and gave an excellent description of the car. This enabled officers to find the car and rescue the victim at Fulton & 21st Ave.

ARREST: DUI / HIT & RUN
12/21/2015 8:45 PM
Washington & Maple
The suspect was driving her Ford when she took a turn too wide and struck the victim’s Toyota at Jackson & Pierce. The suspect then drove off without stopping. The victim and a witness followed the suspect who stopped at Washington & Maple. The suspect told officers that she had just left her company holiday party and added that she was “probably above a .08 and maybe had too much to drink.”

ARREST: TRAFFIC VIOLATION / ESCAPED DANGEROUS FELON
12/25/2015 11:30 PM
California & 10th Ave
Officers saw a man riding a bicycle on the sidewalk in violation of the Traffic Code. They stopped to issue him a cite but he had no ID and gave them a fake name. After some detective work, the officers found that the suspect was a wanted escapee from Seattle who was fleeing a charge of possessing a dangerous firearm.

THEFT FROM A VEHICLE / ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
12/26/2015 2:15 AM
Sutter & Baker
The victims were at home when the wife heard the automatic garage door open. The husband went to investigate and found the door slightly raised. He closed the door, but a few minutes later the wife heard the door again. As the husband returned to the garage he saw the suspect walking up the driveway. The husband asked the suspect what he was doing and the suspect walked away. The husband then checked on his car (parked on the street in front) and found that the garage door opener had been stolen.
Captain’s Note: I recommend against leaving garage door remotes in the car, especially if the car is parked near the house.

BURGLARY OF A RESIDENCE
12/27/2015 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Anza & 4th Ave
The victim came home and went to bed, leaving her door unlocked. When she awoke in the morning, she found that her bike had been stolen from her hallway overnight.
Captain’s Note: Burglars prowl around looking for unlocked doors and windows. If your home is closed up and locked, they may move on in search of an easier target.

TRAFFIC COLLISION WITH INJURIES
Park Presidio & Fulton
12/28/2015 12:29 AM
A BMW was turning from eastbound Fulton to southbound Park Presidio when the driver struck two pedestrians in the crosswalk resulting in moderate injuries to both. According to the pedestrians and the driver’s own admission, he was using his cell phone at the time. He was cited for failing to yield to the pedestrians and for the cell phone violation.

ARREST: TRESPASSING
12/28/2015 4:31 AM
Geary & Broderick
The victim awoke to loud snoring coming from her living room so she called 911. Officers arrived and found the suspect in deep sleep on the couch. After being handcuffed, he refused to walk downstairs and had to be carried. He told officers that he used to live in the apartment and was just trying to get out of the rain. The victim believes that the front door may not lock properly.

MISSING PERSON / FOUND PERSON
12/29/2015 6:19 PM
Balboa and Great Highway
The SFPD received a call from the South San Francisco Police Department regarding a missing, suicidal woman armed with a handgun. The woman’s mobile phone was tracked to Balboa and Park Presidio before it was turned off. SFPD officers searched the district and soon found the woman in her car by the beach. She was detained without incident and taken to the hospital.
