FRAUDULENT GAME OR TRICK TO OBTAIN MONEY OR PROPERTY
8/30/2016 8:30 PM
15TH Ave. & California St.
The victim received a phone call from a male suspect claiming to be her grandson. The suspect claimed he had been arrested after causing a bad car accident, and said he needed bail money. The suspect told the victim he needed $2000.00 for bail, at which time he gave the phone to a second suspect claiming to be the grandson’s attorney. The second suspect directed the victim to go to the CVS pharmacy and purchase $2000.00 in Amazon gift cards. The victim immediately went to the pharmacy and did as the suspect directed. When the victim returned home she called the suspect and supplied him with the gift card codes to pay for the bail. The next day the suspect called back and told the victim the bail had been changed to $3000.00, and demanded more money. The victim was directed to provide the suspect $3000.00 in Apple gift cards. The victim went to the mall and purchased Apple Gift cards in that amount and again provided the card codes to the suspect. The suspect called back again and informed the victim the other party involved in the car accident had died and the bail amount was now $1,000,000.00. The victim became suspicious and contacted her grandson, who told her he was fine and was never involved in a car accident. The victim realized she was scammed and immediately responded to Richmond Station to file a police report.

The victim screamed at the suspect, who immediately fled east on JFK into Golden Gate Park. The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’11’, dark hair, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black loose fitting pants. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

09/03/2016 3:46 PM
Geary Blvd & Collins St.
While on routine patrol, Officers observed a male suspect “tagging” a Muni Bus Stop. One Officer exited his patrol vehicle and attempted to detain the suspect. The suspect pulled away from the Officer causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect ran southbound across Geary Blvd against a solid red light, across all six lanes of traffic, nearly being struck by two vehicles. The suspect began to strip off his clothing while in a full sprint. The suspect then attempted to hide at the top of a nearby staircase, but Officers immediately located him and placed him in handcuffs. The suspect provided Officers with a name and date of birth which came back to a different person. Officers located a birth certificate for the suspect in his backpack and were able to positively identify him. A computer check of the suspect revealed he had been arrested several times on vandalism charges. The Officers transported the suspect to County Jail and booked him on several charges.

Officers were advised the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, which was last seen driving southbound on Great Highway from Beach Chalet. Officers located the vehicle parked in the Ocean Beach parking lot and detained a male and female occupant. The male suspect told Officers he didn’t have a gun and no gun was located. Officers spoke with the victims who told them they were playing Pokemon Go on their smartphones when the suspect, for no apparent reason, threatened to “knock them out.” The suspect then reached towards his lower back and told the victims he had a gun and he would “clock” them. The victims positively identified the suspect as the male who had threatened them. Officers conducted a records check on the male and female suspect and both came back with active warrants for their arrest. Both suspects were transported and booked into County Jail.

ARREST: TRAFFIC VIOLATION
09/05/2016 1:39 AM
25th Ave. & Fulton St.
Officers observed a white Ford Crown Victoria stopped at a red-light at the intersection of 25th Ave. and Fulton St. The driver of the Ford appeared to be talking with the driver of a red sedan that was stopped in the number two lane. The Officers then heard the Ford’s engine rev loudly and observed the rear wheels spin and a large cloud of white smoke emanate from the tires. Just before the light turned green, the Ford again revved its engine loudly, spinning its back wheels producing an even larger cloud of white smoke. The Ford then accelerated at a high rate of speed. Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver of the vehicle. The driver claimed he had “burned out” because the driver of the vehicle next to him was a friend. A computer check of the driver revealed he had a suspended driver’s license out of California. The driver was cited for driving while suspended and exhibition of speed.
