Just got the Richmond Police newsletter for this week and it opens with news related to the car fires that have been set in San Francisco this week (including two in the Richmond):
“On July 30, 2009 at about 3:00 AM, alert Richmond Station plain clothes officers spotted a wanted arson suspect near the Great Highway. The officers were in the area due to several recent incidents where vehicles had been intentionally set on fire. The investigation of those recent incidents has been assigned to the Arson Detail. Investigators will be looking for connections between the suspect we arrested and unsolved, intentionally set fires in the City.”
Let’s hope this is the guy/gal and that we’re done with car torchings. Whatever the outcome, nice work Richmond District PD.
