Good ol’ gore at the Balboa on Thursday, Oct. 29

This Thursday night, October 22 29, head out to The Balboa Theater for “Thrillville’s Gore N’ Snorefest”. Hosted by the B-movie duo Will the Thrill and Monica -Tiki Goddess of Thrillville.

This unique film festival features two super sleazy sexy spooky exploitation classics. Say that fast 3 times!

The first film of the night is Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, a real doozy from 1988 that’s full of tantalizing torsos, lascivious limbs, sexy slashers and prickly prostitutes. A Thursday night on Balboa has never sounded so dangerous! Where else could you see the virgin dance of the double chainsaws?

Next up is Zontar, The Thing From Venus, a 1966 film that was a remake of Roger Corman’s “It Conquered the World” starring John Agar as a scientist harboring a “special relationship” with a goofy alien invader.

The thrills start at 7:30pm. Admission is $12 and that includes both films, plus musical entertainment from The Deadlies and live tassle tossin’ by Lady Monster.

Gulp.

  1. Flying creatures Zontar has grown out of its own body mass, have a purpose! It is to seek out prominent citizens and attach antennae to the back of their necks, zombifying them and allowing Zontar to control them from afar. “What is that weird-looking thing?” asks Anne. It is a valid question, as the injectapods look like nothing less than lobsters with bat wings. “I don’t know, but I don’t like it,” says Agar, throwing a stick at the beastie.

Agar misses, and the injectapod goes on its wobbly way to the neck of the General, who then declares martial law, sending all the military personnel at the base on a forced march to counter the “Communist uprising”

    Uh oh Commies again!

  2. Hey, thanks for the plug, but the event is actually the following Thursday night on October 29!

  3. Thank you Austin! Complete brain fart on my part. Corrected and communicated! Hope the event goes well!
