In April, Richmond Station Officers handled 5127 calls for service.
Noteworthy Arrests
On 05/17/09 at 2:53am officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the Legion of Honor Parking lot. Officers discovered two occupants in a vehicle and determined that the driver, a 33 year old male, was on probation out of San Mateo County. The officer asked the male to step out of the car and when he did, his pants fell down to his ankles. When the male pulled up his pants, a small baggie fell from his pocket. The male kicked the baggie under the car in an attempt to conceal it. The officer retrieved the baggie and determined that the substance inside was methamphetamine. Other narcotics were recovered from the vehicle as well. The male was charged with narcotic violations.
On 05/20/09 at 8:50am an officer responded to a call of a man stealing recyclables. The caller stated that when she told the suspect to stop, he told her to mind her own business. The officer contacted the male, who was on probation. As the subject was on probation a search was conducted and the officer located narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia. The subject was charged with the violation and his probation officer was notified.
On 05/20/09 at 11:27am officers were flagged down by a MUNI driver at 25th and Geary Boulevard. He stated that there was a male aboard the bus who was “tagging.†Officers made contact with a 27 year old male and determined that he had an outstanding warrant for a narcotics violation.
On 05/20/09 at 5:00pm officers were walking through the parking lot of the Westside Courts at Broderick and Sutter. They happened upon a minor dispute between two residents and were abating the situation when a female involved slapped a male across the face. The male then fled the scene just as a large crowd began to gather. Sensing the situation was becoming volatile, the officers asked for additional units. The additional units arrived and were trying to disperse the crowd and deal with hostile bystanders. One of the parties was repeatedly told to leave the area but she kept challenging others to fight, and threatened the officers on the scene. She was taken into custody by the officers and was charged with challenging others to fight, threatening an officer and resisting arrest. The situation was abated and several officers stayed on the scene to ensure there were no further incidents. At 6:20pm another fight broke out among the 20 to 40 residents. Again the officers called for additional units. One party was repeatedly told to leave and refused. When the officer had to grab the male’s arm to stop him from fighting he threatened the officers and tried to reenter the fight. The officer told the male he was under arrest and he began to physically resist the officers. He was taken into custody and charged with battery, threatening an officer and a probation violation.
