Cal’s doors are once again open! This past Saturday, Cal’s Pet Supply on California at 23rd Avenue re-opened after sustaining water damage from a broken water main on June 11.
The store looks great with gorgeous new hardwood floors. Owner Roy Schmall (pictured below) told me that repairing, drying out and re-laying the floor was the main delay. It took five days just to dry out the floor once everything had been cleared out. He also said he lost most of his inventory in the accident. He used the downtime to reorganize the shop layout a bit.
Welcome back Roy! The cats and dogs of the Richmond just breathed a sigh of relief. 🙂

Woo Hoo!
SOOOOO glad! I have known Roy many years. The whole neighborhood pitched in to get him back open. The place had a fire also years back and has seen rats from an abandoned building across the street so hope this is it!
Neighborhood pooichies no longer need to sit outside the door and wonder, what’s up, their treats await!
