No matter where you live in the Richmond District, there’s a park nearby that could use your help this weekend.
Muriel Leff Mini-Park, located on 7th Avenue between Geary and Anza (behind the Police Station) is looking for volunteers to help with gardening this Saturday from 9am – 12pm. The group will be led by two gardeners from the City Rec and Parks Department who will also provide equipment.
Afterwards from 12-12:30pm, enjoy some snacks and brainstorm with other residents about plans for the park. Even if you can’t work or prefer not to, please come out to share your ideas for the park.
For more information, contact project coordinator Mikki Sulanchupakorn at (415) 621-3260 or mikki@sfnpc.org.
The other park work day will take place at Sutro Heights Park, also on Saturday from 9am to 12noon. Help the GGRNA crew with cleanup, graffiti removal and light landscaping.
To participate, meet at 48th & Anza at 9am. Gloves and water will be provided. For more information or to RSVP, email Park Ranger George Durgerian at george_durgerian@nps.gov.
I’ll be out at Muriel Leff Park helping out. Hope to see you there!
