Interested in meeting Supervisor Eric Mar or have something on your mind you want to share with him? Then you’re in luck.
Supervisor Mar will be holding his monthly office hours this Thursday from 11am to 12noon at Nani’s Coffee. Nani’s is located at 2739 Geary (between Emerson St & Wood St, near Masonic).
If you do see him, you may want to discuss his latest initiative, the Family Protection Act, designed to protect San Francisco households with children from so-called “owner move in†evictions, when a landlord evicts a tenant in order to move into the tenant’s apartment.
On Monday, he led a rally on the steps of City Hall in support of the legislation along with Coleman Advocates for Children and Youth, SOMCAN (South of Market Community Action Network) and St. Peter’s Housing Committee (press release).
Supervisor Mar holds public office hours the third Thursday of every month at varying locations. For more information, email marstaff@sfgov.org or call 415-554-7410.

Hi – it should read his monthly office HOUR, not hours, as with just one hour, in the middle of a workday when many residents of the district are elsewhere doesn’t really count as access! Perhaps our supervisor could offer some alternatives for working people, like evenings or weekends?
Bad legislation! It will make families with children much harder to find rentals in SF. I cannot support this.
Like Susan said, not assessible and like Laurie said, this is bad legislation. I just read in the Richmond ReView that there were only 18 documented cases out of 200,000 rental units. Why is Eric putting forth this proposal????? Total waste of time and will hurt more families with children when they try to rent!
