This Sunday night, Bay Area ukulele songstress Erica Dreisbach will be at the Rockit Room to celebrate the release of her first EP, the white hot little. I’ve never actually attended a ukulele concert but after listening to her music on her MySpace page and watching a couple of videos, I am drawn in and impressed.
Erica has a really nice style and as you’ll see from the video below, her first post to Youtube, a funny sense of humor.
Some more about Erica from her MySpace page: Erica has been writing and performing songs on guitar, ukulele, and accordion for over 12 years. Her unique style of soulful acoustic songs branded by her clarion voice, stage charisma, and humor developed on the open mic circuit on the East Coast. Influences include Melissa Ferrick, Patty Griffin, Patty Larkin, and Erin McKeown.
The concert is subtitled “EP release party & talent show”; it’s that last part I’m not quite sure about. Is that ukulele talent only or is this an open mic night? Guess you’ll have to attend to find out.
Erica Dreisbach & Friends plays this Sunday night, September 13th from 7 – 9:30pm at the Rockit Room (406 Clement Street).
