Star of the Sea School held their Fall Festival on Saturday, which included “Touch A Truck”, an event where the city brings in all manner of trucks for kids (and kid-like adults) to explore.
It was heaven for kids – they could climb, poke and pretend steer all kinds of big vehicles. And there were ALOT of trucks – so many that they filled up half the block, parked only a few feet apart from each other. The block of 8th Avenue alongside the school was closed off to traffic.
Thanks to my friends for sending over pics of their kids climbing into fire trucks, swinging in MUNI buses, hanging out in backhoes, and exploring DPT buggies, Streetcleaners, ambulances, police cars and more. Check them out in the slideshow below.
“The kids loved it, we were there for hours” my friend said. And he added, “The trucks were sparkling clean, even the brushes on the street sweeping truck!”
