Two disparate but geographically related events are taking place this Sunday in Golden Gate Park.
From 10am to 5pm at the Hall of Flowers (Lincoln and 9th), the Golden Gate Park Book Fair will feature used, vintage, rare and collectible books for sale. Admission is free and dealers will be on hand to offer free appraisals. Including our own Pete Mulvihill of Green Apple Books. Admission is free.
And down the road at Sharon Meadows will be Pet Pride Day, hosted by San Francisco Animal and Care Control. Bring your pet out for the costume contest, learn how to teach them tricks, and check out the parade of pets from the SF Mounted Police Unit.
To participate with your pets in any contests or events, be sure to register between 11am and 12noon. Events run from 12noon to 3pm. Check out the full schedule here.
So I know this is called “pet” pride day, but will there really be anything else there besides dogs and police horses? I suppose an iguana in a costume is possible, or a rat on a leash? I might have to check this one out, but I don’t think my feline intern, Chelsea, will be up for the melee. 😉
