As you may have heard last week, Michelin awarded our neighborhood Moroccan restaurant, Aziza, with one star in their 2010 Guide to Bay Area restaurants.
I still have not tried the popular and now Michelin-worthy eatery, but one blogger’s recent review definitely got my tastebuds tingling.
Cocochanelella’s review of Aziza is very positive and has great descriptions and photos of some of their noteworthy dishes.
She samples the eggplant farro dish and says “the eggplant was cooked perfectly, tender but a still retained a thoroughly crunchy bite.” She also raves about the hen egg, charmoula and crispy beans dish that’s “warm with wrinkled beans and a soft poached egg”.
Even the grilled flatbreads with spreads impressed her, which she described as “porous and crispy, the flavors from herby, sesame-ish to smoky was a nice flavor awakening for our palates”.
Cocochanelella closes by saying Aziza’s Michelin star is well-deserved and that “after dining at the restaurant, I felt like I was finally in on the secret I was wondering about for years…”
