On Friday, November 6 from 3:30-5:30pm, bring your teens by the Richmond Library for a free lesson on creating henna tattoos. They’ll get a brief introduction to henna, its history, uses, and traditions, and participate in a hands-in demonstration. Everyone will try their hand at mixing ingredients, making henna applicators, as well as practice on traditional designs.
Each student will receive an aftercare sheet, a basic henna recipe, two premade henna cones for practice, and a basic design sheet. 12-18 year-olds welcomed, limited to 20 participants. If you are under 18, you must fill out a consent form beforehand, signed by a parent/guardian, that you can get at the library. For more information, contact Gregory Hom, Teen Services Librarian at ghom@sfpl.org or 355-5610.
On Saturday, November 7, the Library will also host a free holiday card making class. Learn how to make handmade holiday greeting cards. The event runs from 3-5pm and all ages are welcome.
The Richmond Library is located at 351 9th Avenue between Clement and Geary.
