On Saturday night, December 26, the the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers will host a public star party, where anyone is invite to join them for some winter star gazing.
The event begins around sunset (5pm) with a short talk on any of a myriad of astronomical topics, after which participants begin observing through the telescopes.
If Santa brought you a telescope this Christmas, don’t miss the pre-sunset telescope workshop. Bring your scope and get some assistance from veteran star gazers on how to best use it. If you plan to attend the workshop, please RSVP to clinic@sfsidewalkastronomers.org beforehand.
To join in the star gazing, meet up at Point Lobos out by Land’s End (directions). If you’re new to star parties, check out their Star Party Etiquette guide.
