Check out this scene from last year’s Star Trek film. Looks like the Starfleet Academy is located in Sea Cliff and Baker Beach! Nice to know we have a bright future. 😉
Thanks to Janna for sending this in.

Compared to this redevelopment, the new Safeway is nothing!
Nah, it’s SF–you can see the entrance to the bay on the right. I do think they nixed most of the Marin Headlands, though.
Sad thing is, even if Starfleet was real and wanted to be in San Francisco, they could never get a permit in this city!
The first picture is actually the Marin side. Second is from Baker Beach.
There were several episodes of Star Trek Next Generation which set Starfleet Academy in the same general location in San Francisco.
I guess once we have a United Federation of Planets, the permit process will be easier . . . unless Starfleet plans to move into existing buildings in the city!
Looks like the view from the Marin side to me. Makes more sense, too, because it would be where Fort Baker currently is.
Definitely the Marin side, as viewed from near the Coast Guard station (near the Discovery Museum & Carvallo Point). Look at the hill on the far side to the left of the bridge — that’s the Presidio. Also, look at the extra structure under the far-side of the bridge — that’s the part above Fort Point.
Now you know why Richmond residents support being able to send their kids to the neighborhood school.
