CAPTAIN RICHARD CORREIA’S MESSAGE
In connection with our “Operation Safe Abode” program, for the last few weeks we have been focusing uniform and plain clothes resources in an area of the outer Richmond in response to an uptick in residential burglaries. Patrol officers have also been distributing literature and advising residents in the area to be vigilant for suspicious activity. On December 9, 2010 officers from Taraval Station had occasion to arrest an individual in connection with a burglary in their district. That subject was similar in description to an individual that had committed at least one burglary on 23rd Avenue in the Richmond. I am delighted to tell that plain clothes officers from our 35 car team gathered evidence that connected the Taraval’s burglar to our burglary. The suspect is in jail now charged with two counts of burglary. The Richmond Station officers and investigators will be searching for evidence that connects the suspect with other recent burglaries in the Richmond .

During the past week in the District there were 22 traffic accidents 7 involving injuries. There was 1 citation issued for driving without a license or driving on a suspended license. There were 3 arrests for driving under the influence.

Due to the Christmas holiday we will not be having a community meeting this month. The next meeting is scheduled for January 18, 2011.
