EaterSF reported last week that 3809 Geary, between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, will soon be taken over by a new restaurant called Shabu Pub.
Shabu Pub is not open yet, but their permit application to sell alcohol was posted in the window on January 25th. They’ll also be doing some construction inside per the Job Card on the front door.
Even though they’re not open yet, the restaurant already has a website up, which declares the motto “Casual onhealthy buying effexor Dining with Seriously Good Beef”.
Shabu Pub is a great place to get some excellent and diverse beef in a really nice environment. The beef is presented in a very modern and upscale manner; flavors are big and bold, this is a place where taste counts. Service is good and the bar is already becoming a great place to hang out and relax.
There you have it – lots of beef, coming soon.

The Inner Richmond does not need anymore Asian cuisine restaurants. Can we get some variety please?
Great! Can’t wait to try it.
Love Shabu Shabu. Looking forward to this too.
I agree with CnSF. No more Asian cuisine restaurants!
How about an appealing cafe with GOOD COFFEE?? Someone will make a killing out here when they finally do it. We have a couple of comfortable cafes, but their coffee is dirty laundry swill.
BLUE BOTTLE, FOUR BARREL, RITUAL, DE LA PAZ – Someone, PLEASE carry one of these coffees and open a comfortable, true cafe, croissants and scones can’t hurt.
I know a couple joints sell Blue Bottle but they’re no good at making it (Village Market, you need to take the temp of your coffee drinks, they’re tepid at best. Cold by the time I walk home the whole 1 block.)
Agreed. Enough with the Shabu and sushi joints. We are over saturated on those formats!
Where are the righteous, anti-competition protestors, to complain that this new Asian restaurant will drive the others out of business?
any kind of food establishment is better than the underage drunks at Mazu.
