Shop at Whole Foods this Thursday & benefit the RD Neighborhood Center

This Thursday, February 3rd, our very own Richmond District Neighborhood Center will be the beneficiary of Whole Foods Community Support Day, which provides 5% of the store’s gross sales to a worthy community nonprofit.

The Whole Foods store at Franklin and California will donate 5% of all sales made on Thursday to the RDNC (8am until 10pm). Depending on the number of shoppers, RDNC could earn as much as $7000-$8000 to support their youth and family programs.

So if you typically shop at Whole Foods, wait until Thursday so your purchases will make a difference right here in the neighborhood. If you stop by the RDNC table from 4pm until 7pm, you will receive a free tote bag. All the better to carry home your groceries in, right?

This chance to help the RDNC is only possible at the Whole Foods at 1765 California Street at Franklin. Anything you purchase is eligible for the 5% benefit so go crazy and stock up!

The Richmond District Neighborhood Center provides a variety of free and low-cost services for middle and high school students on their 30th Avenue campus as well as at the public schools.

Services include after school programs, art programs, employment training for teens, and even a youth-led Food Pantry program serving over 200 senior citizen and low-income residents of the Richmond District. The center recently celebrated 30 years of working with local schools.

  1. Certainly this is a good cause. I hope the new Whole Foods at Haight and Stanyan considers doing something similar when it opens this month. The new Whole Foods is fairly close to the Inner Richmond.
