There are a couple of outdoor volunteer opportunities this weekend.
On Saturday, celebrate Arbor Day by giving back to the neighborhood during a public cleanup event.
Join the Department of Public Works (DPW) Community Clean Team to help with various projects in the Richmond District including tree planting, landscaping, garden projects, weed removal, graffiti removal and litter clean up.
The event begins at George Washington High School (30th Avenue between Geary & Anza) at 8:30am and runs until 1pm. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers.
To sign up, visit the Community Clean Team website, email volunteer@sfdpw.org or call 641-2600.
On Sunday, there will be another community cleanup event at Rossi Park on Arguello Boulevard. Help other neighbors remove weeds, clean up trash from 9am until 12noon. Come for the whole time or just a part of it – any of your volunteer time is appreciated. Kids are welcome too! For more information, contact Julie Marcus at 517.6251 or julie@imagineeringsf.com.
