The Examiner is sponsoring a “Write the Wrap” contest in celebration of Giants opening day on March 31 where the World Series champs will do battle against the L.A. Dodgers (boo! hiss!).
They’re inviting anyone to submit a possible Giants headline for the paper that day. If yours is chosen in the top 10, it will be voted on by Examiner readers.
The winning headline will be then published in every Examiner on March 31 (190k newspapers!) and you’ll win a Giants Prize Pack (not sure what’s in the pack, but let’s hope it’s tickets to the first opening series at home against the St. Louis Cardinals April 8-10).
Ok, so this sounds easy but this is the newspaper biz. You have to pack a punch in your headline! It’s not like this blog where I have the luxury of writing long headlines. You gotta come up with something that is a max of 15 characters. I know, tough stuff!
So head on over to examiner.com/writethewrap and submit your ideas. You’ve only got until March 24th to enter so as my teacher friend would say, get those creative juices flowing!
Good luck and GO GIANTS! If you do win, maybe Tim Lincecum will come party with you here in the neighborhood…
