NOTEWORTHY ARRESTS
On 07/11 at 4:30pm, officers responded to the 3500 block of Sacramento St on a report of a male who was slamming windows and swinging a tree branch at passersby. Several callers along the way stated that he would stop at businesses and bang on the windows and mumble incoherently. He then struck a vehicle with the tree branch and banged on the window, not letting the occupant leave. Officers located the male on the 3200 block of Sacramento St. and attempted to detain him. The male stood with his hands clenched and then suddenly put his hand behind his back as if hiding something. Officers ordered his to show his hands and he stared blankly at them. When the officers attempted to detain him, he resisted their efforts. The officers were finally able to detain him, and due to his altered mental state were taken to a local hospital. The 24 year old male was charged with vandalism and resisting arrest.

On 07/12 at 1:15pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop as the driver had committed a traffic
violation. The officer determined that the driver had a suspended license. While doing an inventory of the vehicle the officer discovered several types of narcotics. The 21 year old male from Oregon was charged with narcotic violations.

NOTEWORTHY INCIDENTS
On 07/11 at 11:45pm, the victims (4) were walking west on Lake St at 24th Ave. One suspect was walking ahead of them and 2 were behind at some distance. All three suspects then closed the gap with the suspect ahead pulling on a ski mask. The suspect with the ski mask simulated as if he had a gun and they demanded the victims property. One of the victims said “Lets get out of here” and they all took off running. Three of the victims continued on and one called the police to report the incident. The suspects were described as males in their early 20’s, one with long hair, goatee, wearing a black t-shirt with a white t-shirt underneath. The other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes. There was no loss.

On 07/12, between 8am and 8pm on the 400 block of 20th Ave, a suspect gained entry into a residence by prying open the front iron gate, and breaking the glass on the front door. The house was rummaged through but there appears to be no loss.

    Why is it against the law to state their race??????? Does it make me a racist for wanting to know their race?! No, but it would certainly be useful information.

  2. Wow, must have just missed this as that is right about the time I am running along that route.

  3. i used to walk my dog late at night along lake and would always encounter thuggish looking people..usually dressed in black. i would say anytime after 9pm (when its dark) its not the safest place.

    @What’s their race, dammit!
    Could it be that the victims didnt identify their race? One was wearing a ski mask after all. I are you assuming someone is calling you a racist because you want to know their race? Chill out. Also its kinda hard sometimes to make out someones race in the dark.. but even when its caught on video. For example there was a mugging caught on tape in austin a couple months ago. A guy beat a girl, knocked her out. Everyone in the comments on youtube blamed a hispanic person.. They caught the guy later (friends ratted him out) and it turned out he was white.
