The blog administrator and readers seem to like this church a lot, so I guess I’m in the minority, but I have never been a fan of this buidling. I think it’s the gold domes that kill it for me – they seem kind of tacky and gaudy. It sticks out like a sore thumb from pretty much any vantage point in the Richmond and even beyond that. Ah well, to each his own!!
What a lovely photo. Thanks!
Great shot!
That is, in fact, the Russian Scouts’ building, and as I understand it the mirrored window was designed precisely for this purpose.
Beautiful photo! I love the Russian Church. I’m not a member, but I love going in to hear the music and listen to the wonderful music. It’s really a Richmond District treasure! I have brought many friends to this church and they have told me it’s one of the most beautiful church interiors they have ever seen. It glows with candles and is just filled with Russian icons and other religious items. Don’t miss it!
Great post … nice job!
Seth: if you don’t care for the Russian Orthodox church , in particular the dome ; step inside someday to see that everything that glitters IS gold.
