Just a reminder that PAR is hosting the mayoral candidates tonight for a debate at the Richmond Recreation Center (251 18th Avenue) from 7pm until 9pm. All candidates except current Mayor Ed Lee and State Senator Leland Yee will be participating.
When one reader heard that one of top candidates would not be attending, she wrote to me and said, “As a resident of the Richmond for 30+ years, I take this as a total slap in the face, and a message that these candidates do not care about our neighborhood and can’t be bothered to come out and talk to us.”
How do you feel about some candidates not attending our debate but making it to others in the city, like the one in the Castro in early August? Leave a comment to let us know.
The race for Mayor of San Francisco is still very crowded with 14 candidates: Current Mayor Ed Lee, City Attorney Dennis Herrera, Supervisor Bevan Dufty, former Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier, State Representative Leland Yee, Supervisor John Avalos, Supervisor David Chiu, Assessor Phil Ting, Joanna Rees, Public Defender Jeff Adachi, Cesar Ascarrunz, Paul Currier, former Supervisor Tony Hall and Emil Lawrence.
See you there!
Sarah B.
UPDATE: I was informed on Monday mid-day that Senator Leland Yee will be attending tonight’s debate.
