This Sunday, for one night only, the Balboa Theater will screen the controversial thriller “Red State”, directed by Kevin Smith.
The film tells the story of a group of teens in Middle America who receive an online invitation for sex, but soon encounter fundamentalists with a much more sinister agenda. Red State stars 2011 Academy Award winner for Best Actress Melissa Leo, John Goodman, Kyle Gallner and Michael Parks.
After the movie, the audience will be treated to a Q&A with director Kevin Smith. The Q&A will be digitally streamed live into all of the participating theatres (Red State will screen at other theaters across the country on Sunday), allowing audience members to interact directly with Smith utilizing Twitter. Smith will be joined on stage by a special guest who will moderate the Q&A.
The film screens on Sunday at 4pm and 7pm; tickets can be purchased online in advance ($20).
