The courts at the Richmond Playground on 18th Avenue between Lake and California got a much-needed facelift recently.
Thanks to the efforts of Commissioner David Lee – who is also a Richmond District resident – the Rec & Park Commission approved a $45,095 budget back in early September for the resurfacing.
The funds were used to resurface and repair the basketball courts, clean and provide crack filler and fabric, re-stripe the courts (including a hopscotch court), and replace the four basketball hoops and backboards.
Lee’s goal was to complete the project by Thanksgiving so everyone could play their pick up games after their big turkey meals. Mission accomplished!
