I love these guys. We always see them randomly late ate night, undoubtedly running from the scene of some mischievous hijinks they’ve just participated in 🙂
YES!!! Haha! My husband and I love when we get a spotting of these guys! We have silly names for them. Definitely, the mischievous midnight marauders!
A couple years ago I found raccoon prints on my back porch. Thing is that I don’t have any pets so there was nothing for them to snack on or drink.
Maybe they just wanted to check out the view….
these guys probably got on the bus from the Legion of Honors: http://www.flickr.com/photos/swthomson/3759243339/
Wow! jc that’s amazing haha. I hope the ones on the power pole stays away from the high voltage.
We recently put out a bird feeder, and after several weeks of finding it empty every morning, I saw that a raccoon was able to reach it. We now bring in the feeder every night. Find your midnight snack somewhere else, buddy!
Don’t ever answer a scratching sound at your door and expect assistance from Animal Care & Control or SFPD.
Raccoons like homes without pets so that they can birth their kits in any crawl space they can access, carefully check spaces under sunrooms. I speak from experience, dealt with this back in the 1970s.
Awesome link JC… but did they have Clipper cards?
On another note… if you encounter a raccoon up close, it is best to back away and assume they are cranky, will bite, and that bite may carry rabies.
