The 8th Annual Chinese American Film Festival kicks off at the 4 Star Theater (2200 Clement) on Friday, featuring ten films over 4 days.
The films range from period pieces like “The Assassins” where a battle ensues over the throne during the Three Kingdoms reign, to “Battle B-Boy”, a modern film where a group of struggling B-Boys join an underground fighting ring in Los Angeles that uses Hip-Hop music and Break dancing to battle for money.
Director Frank Lin will be at the screening of his film “Battle B-Boy” on October 28 as 12noon (advance tickets available online).
Check out the descriptions of all ten films and their trailers on the film festival website. Non-English films do have subtitles.
Admission to each film is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and children (except for Battle B-Boy which is $10 for all seats). Buy a Series Ticket for $25 and get admission to five films (available at the 4-Star box office).
