The Outside Lands Music Festival is returning for its fifth year this August 9-11 in Golden Gate Park. The 2013 lineup includes Sir Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix, The National, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend and many more.
And while most people go to the festival to rock out, some are there to earn a living. Festival organizers have always claimed to want to help the local neighborhoods in which the festival takes place – the Richmond and Sunset Districts – and this year, they’re making good on their promise with a job fair for residents.
The event takes place on Saturday, July 13 at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park from 10am until 3pm. The festival is hiring for three types of positions:
- Site set-up and tear-down crew
- Best Beverage Catering bar tenders
- National Event Services Security Guards
Applicants from all over the city are welcome to apply, but special consideration will be given to residents in the Richmond District and Sunset District.

cool cool
They cut off taking applications early. I was told they limited application to the first one hundred. No mention of that here. I feel like they did a sham of a job fair to comply with their agreement, but that’s it.
